Michael Redmond

Board Trustee

Michael’s career is grounded in care-based organizations serving diverse communities, individuals, and families in need, and he has over forty years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector. He retired as Executive Director of the Upper Valley Haven in 2025 after serving in this role for seven years. The Haven provides shelter to unhoused individuals and families, operates a large food distribution program, and supports people living on the edge throughout the Upper Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire.

Prior to joining the Haven, he held multiple leadership roles for 18 years for the Crotched Mountain Foundation, a diversified nonprofit  organization that is a source of hope and empowerment for people with disabilities and other challenges, based in Greenfield, NH. There, he served as chief of strategy for hospital and clinical services, interim chief executive officer, chief operating officer, chief financial officer, and vice president for advancement. Prior to joining the Crotched Mountain Foundation, he was a senior consultant with The Whelan Group in New York, a consulting firm specializing in strategic planning and fundraising services for nonprofits. He also previously held the positions of executive director of development with the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement-Graymoor, a worldwide Catholic order of brothers and priests, and assistant executive director of the Grand Street Settlement, a private social services organization in New York. Michael received his BA from Boston College, a Master’s in Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and an MBA from Columbia University. He also was awarded a Black Belt certificate of achievement in Lean Six Sigma from Villanova University and is a graduate of the Leadership New Hampshire program.

He has served his communities as a volunteer throughout his career. He is a member of the Affordable Housing Committee in Peterborough, NH, and serves on the Board of Directors for The Family Place in Norwich, VT, and the Planning Committee of New Hampshire Public Radio. He was a founding Board member and Treasurer of the Housing & Homelessness Alliance of Vermont. He was a member of the Housing Advisory Committee for the Upper Valley of Vital Communities. He is a past president of the Board of Trustees of the Dublin School and has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Peterborough Players, New Hampshire Public Radio, the River Mead Retirement Community, the Greater Peterborough (NH) Chamber of Commerce, and Leadership New Hampshire.
