Clinic Programs 2024

Primary Care: Our primary care services cover a broad range of general health needs. Clinics are held on a varying schedule, with some services offered weekly and others monthly.

Allergy & Immunology: This specialty addresses allergic reactions and immune system disorders, including diagnosing allergies and implementing treatment plans to manage these conditions effectively.

Dental Care: Our dental services encompass a full spectrum of care, including routine cleanings, fillings, extractions, and the creation of dentures.

Dermatology: Our dermatology clinic operates monthly to diagnose and treat a variety of skin conditions and diseases.

Gastroenterology: Our gastroenterology clinic is held monthly to address disorders of the digestive system, including issues related to the stomach, intestines, and liver. Dartmouth Health has partnered with us to provide several cost-free diagnostic colonoscopies to GNHC patients per year.

Gynecology: This monthly service focuses on women’s reproductive health. We offer two separate clinics: one led by a male volunteer provider and one by a female volunteer provider, ensuring patient comfort and preference.

Harm Reduction Services: Currently provided in partnership with H2RC, this program aims to minimize the negative health impacts of substance use. Services are offered on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, with plans to incorporate a harm reduction vending machine to increase access to services after hours, and days when the clinic is closed.

LGBTQIA2S+ Clinic: Our dedicated clinic for LGBTQIA2S+ patients is held monthly to address the unique healthcare needs of this community.

Medicare and Medicaid Application Assistance: Assistance is provided to patients needing help with Medicare and Medicaid applications, ensuring they receive necessary insurance coverage and financial aid. Patients are screened at their initial appointment and can be scheduled to connect with staff for assistance whenever needed.

Mental Health Counseling: Volunteer mental health counselors are available for patient consultations, with additional referrals to external community mental health agencies as needed.

Neurology: This specialty clinic, held monthly, focuses on neurological conditions, offering expert diagnosis and treatment for disorders of the nervous system.

Ophthalmology: Our monthly ophthalmology clinic provides comprehensive eye care, including diagnosis and treatment of vision and eye health issues.

Orthopedics: Held monthly, our orthopedic clinic addresses musculoskeletal conditions, including injuries and diseases of the bones, joints, and muscles, thanks to our 1 volunteer orthopedic specialist.

Psychiatry: This weekly service focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders, medication management, and in depth treatment of cognitive behavioral therapy.

Rheumatology: Offered monthly, our rheumatology clinic specializes in treating conditions affecting the joints, muscles, and bones, such as arthritis.

Smoking Cessation: This program supports patients identified through screenings or those expressing interest in quitting tobacco use, providing resources and counseling to help them cease smoking, run by certified counseling staff (3 currently certified). Training is offered annually.

Physical Therapy: Patients requiring physical therapy are referred to Cioffredi & Associates on an as-needed basis, ensuring tailored and specialized rehabilitation care.

  Additional Supporting Information:

  1. Programs may be changed to meet needs of our community and are tailored to current volunteer availability based on clinical specialty. All patients who come to GNHC are first seen by primary care to ensure continuity of care and provide quality follow up with patient case management.
  1. GNHC added a “Community Corner” in 2023 to provide shoes, coats, knitted wear from a local senior center, and clothing of all sizes to our shelves along with free books for patients in need who may not be able to afford clothing, or who need items immediately.
  1. GNHC developed a partnership with Hannaford in 2023 to create a sustainable food program for those identified as food insecure in the immediate realm of care. Staff provide this food to patients and connect them with additional support resources before they depart.
